Assisi ... The First Evening

We arrived in the afternoon and I was thrilled to set foot off the train and be back in Assisi. We went to our hotel and got organized and later headed to the Basilica of St. Francis to take in the view, enjoy the afternoon and eventually watch the sunset from a little restaurant that faces the basilica.

It was a perfect way to begin our time in Assisi.

This first shot is the view with your back to the basilica. I am working on a pastel from a photo of it from my last trip and I will get that posted as soon as it's finished!

You can see from the picture below, the little crowd that forms to watch the sunset in the evening and at the bottom you can see the amazing view from our table at the restaurant, along with the flower window boxes and reflection of the candles in the window glass.
