The world is but a canvas to the imagination.
~Henry David Thoreau
Today was the last day of 10 weeks of summer art workshops! I can't quite believe it's over.
Time is a funny thing. Like so many things in life, it seems like it flew by and yet took forever, all at the same time! I will be glad to have my mornings back, (as well as more energy) but I will miss the kids - especially the funny moments with them and the moments when they had a breakthrough and really loved their own work.
Here are a just a few of the kids from the 10 weeks of art camp at The Wizard of Art.
Stella ~watercolorist and future cast member of Saturday Night Live
Jacob ~ Painter and art philosopher
Audrey ~ Painter gaining her confidence
Audrey with her twin sister Evelyn
and Evelyn's meerkat sculpture
Evelyn ~ Watercolorist (aware she's brilliant but is very matter of fact about the whole thing)
Tom ~ animator and comic with his flying burrito
Sammy ~ watercolorist and admirer of Andy Goldsworthy
James ~ Artist and resident cutie-pie
Olivia ~ watercolorist and total sweetheart
Cynara ~ Painter and sage
Apple ~ printer and another total sweetheart
Eva Luna ~ artist and future entertainer
Satchi ~ painter (and someone who actually appreciated my humor! ;)
Coco ~ artist (and shy girl, shhhh)
Bridget ~ animator and fairy
Goldie ~ sculptor (who missed one morning to go to court to officially change her name to "Goldie")
All real works of art
look as though they were done in joy.
I have to say a huge thank you to my fellow teacher Mekenzie. She is a sweetheart, crazy talented, and has such an incredible gift for working with children. She is truly amazing to watch! Thanks Mekenzie!!!! You're awesome!!! :)
Things have been so busy and there is a lot to blog about but for now ... have a beautiful weekend my friends!
Blessings and light!
