Small Town Parade

This is Ojai, California. A lot of people, I am sure, think of beaches, Hollywood, Beverly Hills or San Diego when they think of Southern California. But this too is California. Small Town Funky, U.S.A. It's a mix of ranchers and horse people with a huge infusion of hippies, artists and spiritual folk. I love it.

My parents and sister's family live up there and if you aren't familiar with it, I have done many posts on my Ojai adventures ...

This weekend they had their annual 4th of July Parade ... on the 3rd. I told you, funky.

By the way, she is on roller blades ...

The little girl on the bottom had the wave down. Not only did she have the Miss America part of the wave but she ended with a hula girl flourish. Fabulous.

Hope you all had a great, funky, fantastic weekend!
Blessings and light!

Oh what a beautiful parade. I love American 4th of July parades. Everything good is packed in them. That little girl in the last photo totally has it going on.

I think I need to share this!

Thanks for your wishes on my last post. I learned my lesson. :) There's always a lesson, isn't there?

hugs.

These are such slices of Americana, aren't they? I love it. That horse with the striped "socks" is fabulous. Very in-the-spirit. I always get a bit teary-eyed on the 4th: we are very fortunate, are we not?
