Japanese Gardens at the Huntington

There is something so serene and lovely about a japanese garden. If you are going to meditate, this is the place to do it. And who doesn't love a arched Japanese bridge? (Just look at Monet!) I didn't get any shots of the fish in this garden but there were plenty of orange and gold koi in the ponds.

Enjoy!
Without any intentional fancy way of adjusting yourself,
to express yourself as you are,
is the most important thing.

Shunryu Suzuki

All that we are is the result of what we have thought.
The mind is everything.
What we think
we become.

~Buddha

The world is like a mirror you see?
Smile and your friends smile back.

Master says, "Encourage others."

My sister Penny and Benjamin (my nephew) enjoying the beautiful, shaded pathways ...

The fundamental delusion of humanity
is to suppose that I am here
and you

Do not speak
unless it improves on silence.

~Buddhist Saying

Penny and Ben picked up camellias that had fallen from the trees ...
so sweet, his little hand next to hers.

The quieter you become,
the more you can hear.

Blessings and light for a beautiful week!
~And still more of the gardens to come!
